The Mission

For the past 10 months, I've been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Since my arrival, people back home have asked me, "What's Iraq like?", "What do you do there?", "Is it scary?", "Are you bored?", etc. By my ninth month here, I finally figured out that the best way to answer these questions was to not answer them at all. Instead, I would show everyone the answers. One picture, taken every hour, to show what I am doing here. If a picture is truly worth a thousand words, then hopefully this blog can explain what is happening in Iraq better than any news article can.

Day 9: The Return of Stalker Cat!!

0900: Walking past the motor pool on my way to the office... Some of the trucks are painted Blue and White to match the style of the Iraqi Federal Police. Tactical? No. Partnership-Oriented? Abso-freakin-lutely...

1000: Helping (Watching) SPC Melton set up an antenna on top of a sand bag bunker.

1100: Oh look, LT Bunt and LT Ervin working for a change...

1200: I found Stalker Cat!! I haven't seen him in a while, so I can only assume that he was out fighting terrorists.. I found out that apparently Stalker Cat has a real name. Although, Stalker Cat sounds neat, I'm going to have to call him by his actual name, Dusty.

1300: Practice formation for an awards ceremony, the Army is very keen on ensuring that ceremonies look good.

1400:  This is what a Katy Perry music video can do to Soldiers that have been stuck in Iraq for over 10 months. Meanwhile, I'm 95% sure that nobody is watching the radios...

1500: Standing in formation waiting for the Big Wigs to arrive for the awards ceremony...

1600: Blackhawks leaving the Joint Security Station following the awards ceremony.... Two seconds later, I was coated in the dust that their rotors kicked up...

1700: A Marine Corps cake at an Army JSS...  Delicious, but definitely does not belong here...

1800: LSAT Prep books... I really need to break those out and get studying!

1900: In  order to get into the Halloween season, I figured I would watch the mother of all scary movies.... The Exorcist... I realllly reallllllly realllllly hate this movie...

2000: GYM!!! Guess who backed out of working out tonight.... Matt Ervin, thats who.
